If you can find the BIOS on the Sony website, then it should say what changes have been made to it. Its generally nothing that special, just a few things here and there that didn't work, or had problems.

nothing really, they just hope someone will corrupt their bios while updating so that they can charge them for fixing it. j/k...

Sony never really give any detail information about the fixes. Or maybe I just haven't find them yet.

It supports VIsta. It also increases the max video memory.

    Oh,Why did SZ1&2 and SZ3 have different bios ?
    SZ1&2 : R0092N0
    SZ3&4 : R0094N0

Maybe the differences are between Yonah Processor and Merom Processor ?

The only thing I've noticed was that now my ac adapter doesn't continue charging the battery after it's fully charged. They seem to have resolved this issue.

I googled the file name of the bios update, and while what I found was oriental writing, it was clear that there were many references to the video card (7400)

I just flashed my SZ330P (btw the flash process is pretty slick - happens in Windows and then just reboot) and I checked Nvidia Control Panel - it still says it's only 128MB of RAM.

I'm running XP though, maybe Vista it lets use more RAM? Installing Vista later today.

I don't think the RAM changes, maybe VISTA ist just able to manage the shared RAM.

The dedicated RAM is on chip and hell of expensive.
So how the beaver should Sony enable more RAM, and especially why?

The GeForce Go 7400 has a "shared RAM" portion to it, that like the Intel chips, it borrows from the system ram when needed for the extra graphical push.

No increase of video memory with XP. However, with Vista, it will increase to 334mb. If you use XP, there is no need to upgrade.

    That´s what I mean.
The dedicated RAM remained the same, and maybe VISTA just manages the shared RAM and added the dedicated RAM, so it seems to be more.

But well, who knows, right? :D

I can only confirm that now with Vista (I did the BIOS update before I ever installed it) in properties it shows 64MB of dedicated RAM for the Go 7400 but upto 335MB available...this is the spec for the SZ4x series so it's nice that Sony didn't leave us SZ3x owners in the dark. It just seems to allow Vista to use more of system ram for video...before I think it was only limited to 128.
