    Okay so the external audio is pretty quiet on my SZ... but it also features a mass of whining and crackling when running on AC power...

    Pretty good guess points to the power supply!! Is there anything that can be done to surpress this noise? (I saw a similar issue in these forums regarding an Alienware laptop.)

    Also is there any kind of utility to adjust sound card settings on my SZ2VP..... besides the built in windows mixer!

    I'm still annoyed at not having SPDIF out on a £1800 laptop..... (and video out... grr!)
