I finally decided on a sz360 (and a HSDPA card instead of a 381 with edge) which will be here monday.

I have seen people with Macbooks who's screen gets damaged because of the keyboard keys touching the screen, and it comes with a pad to place between the two when closed.

I had this problem on my old Dell 8100, but not on my new (soon to be old) Dell 8600.

Has anyone had this problem in the SZ?

Just want to know if I need to be concerned about it.

    Thanks!!!

Are there any recommended screen protectors (brands etc) for notebooks such as Sony's SZ series?

I own the original sz110 and the s1/s2/stamina/wifi/power on buttons created an imprint on the plastic part right below the screen when it's closed. I ended up putting some tape there to keep the plastic from being scratched up. Not sure if the newer models fixed this issue.

No issues with the keyboard scratching the screen at least.

Grrrr, dead pixel on mine. Going back to Amazon tomorrow. Now to see how long till new ones are in stock. I could order from anywhere, but a sz360 for $2150, no tax, overnight shipping is pretty hard to put down...

I have a TX and have heard of this problem with that series as well. When I got my TX, I looked at it from the side and could (barely) see daylight all the way through so knew there was, at least for now, enough clearance and the keys weren't hitting. Nevertheless, since the report I read stated that the problem appeared after some time and a good bit of opening and closing the lid (like 80 times or something), I decided to keep the thin piece of foam paper that the unit came with between the keyboard and screen. It shipped with that piece there so I figured it is the safest option.

Never had this problem but I use a Radtech screen protector anyway. Highly recommended!

I use the foam sheet it came with. It was packaged with a thin piece of smooth "foam paper" and I trimmed it to size and leave it between my keyboard and monitor.
