    Hello NR readers

I notice some backlight bleeding along the bottom and corners. It this normal? I can see it during boot up! Is this something to do with the brightness of the screen?

Some bleeding is normal, as the inverter is along the bottom of the LCD. It would help to see some pictures of the screen. The reason you can see the bleeding during boot-up is probably because of the fact that the screen is dark and it is easier to notice. Excessive leakage is not normal, though, as mentioned, pictures would help.

The boot up was what I was referring to.

Ok, I guess that is normal then.

Can you take a picture of it at boot up?

try to have a check on it and fix it as soon as possible within its warranty..........otherwise, who knows what is going to happen in 1 year..

I'm not sure whether it is the norm but my new SZ370P/C exhibits the same thing as you said... However it is still a very awesome screen & amazingly bright at the brightest setting! :)

Hi, just got the FE38GP (Australian Model: T7200, GF7600, 120HDD, 1GB RAM, 15.4") to replace my HP 5000t. As I booted up for the first time, I also noticed so bleeding from the bottom of the screen. The pattern is similar to around 10 W's connected together at the bottom of the screen. I can only notice it during bootup. Was quite disappointed, seeing that everyone says Sony notebook screens are the best.

If you use Dead Pixel Buddy and make your screen all back you can see it.

I try taking a picture with digital camera but it didn't work out too well.

I think there is a lot of problem with my SZ360 and I am exchanging it.

    :)

    This is what I have:

    VGN-FE38GP & Pavilion DV5128TX

    MAX Brightness on both machines

    FE Screen

See how uniform the HP screen is compared to the Sony one? Is this leakage normal?
