Running Vista Business, I have tried the method of finding the lidbehaviour value and giving it a new value but I couldn't find it. Is there another way or if someone has fixed this issue before with the resolution changing when you close the lid. This problem is driving me mad. Is there a way of fixing it? I cant afford to change the resolution every time it wakes up from standby!

    Please, can someone help?

    Ähm...

My resolution is perfectly fine on my SZ71VN/X (EU top model) after ewaking up from sleep mode, which is I believe standby...

And the lid behaviour, that would be under energy options...

Every time I close the lid to put it to sleep, when I wake it up the resolution drops to 1024 x 800. Is there a way to fix this?

Well I know mine doesn't so there must be.
Upgrading the graphics driver would be my first guess...

There's no way of upgrading the graphics card. If windows search for the latest updates, it says that it is up to date already. This issue is only with Vista.

There has to be a way of fixing the issue!! Please!

Vaio update doesn't have any driver updates for graphics. So I guess its up to date already...

There has to be a fix, right?

    As its not normal, yes.
Maybe search the Microsoft database whether they know what's going on.
Also, does it happen under the Chipset or under the NVIdia card??
I always use the Chipset, but I'll try the NVidia if its any help.

    Update:
I just verified that my SZ behaves correctly on the NVidia too.
So there must be a fix.

I don't have a VAIO, but encountered a problem similar to yours. It coule be the intel graphics driver, conflicting with your built-in drivers for your monitor in windows vista.

Go to the start menu and search for "msconfig", startup tab, and uncheck programs that have to do with Intel graphics driver. Restart the computer and see if the problem still persists.

    Hope this helps!
