So I purchased an open box SZ120P (upgrading from a TX650 - which is for sale by the way), fell in love with the additional real estate of the 120P screen and then thought if I was going to make this inventment I should get the best I could afford - so I returned the SZ120P and upgraded to an SZ260, it a premium but without the carbon fiber.
WOW - the screen is so much better than the SZ120 - so much better, unbelievable I am so glad I did this.
Does this screen use a different technology than the SZ120P?
-
Yes. It uses LED backlighting as opposed to the standard lamps used in the 120.

The VGN-SZ260 does in fact have a carbon fiber case... -
Carbon fiber lid casing, but not the carbon fiber weave.
All SZ150-180 and SZ250-280 has the carbon fiber casing, only the special models have the weave (IE, SZ281P/X)
Normal magnesium casing is on SZ110-140 and SZ210-240. -
OK - that is why I thought I did not have carbon fiber, no weave. But wow the screen is a significant improvement over the SZ 120.
