click the Specifications tab in this link, then scroll to the very bottom and look at where it says colour...

Only the premium is Carbon Fibre, the the standard SZ is magnesium

from what i saw on the canadian sonystyle site, there's only the sz680. that's carbon fiber, but not premium. the sz691 is premium...and that's the only premium cf model in the sz6 series.

there's the magnesium models, the carbon fiber models, and the premium carbon fiber models. the sz680 is the carbon fiber model.

    szX40 and less is magnesium
    szX50-80 is carbon fiber
and anything above that is premium cf...just has a different color and patterned lid.

the premium IS the carbon fibre model! But the one you are referring to is the "special" model! I have a VGN-SZ61WN/C and it says "Premium" on the box!

Even tho I never ordered it from Sony, and from what I heard, the "Special" model is ONLY available from SonyStyle

Look here, where it shows you the regular (magnesium), premium (carbon fibre) and special (carbon fibre with a special coating on it) models...

i stand corrected...i must have misread something or been misinformed. anyhow, the special coated sz's can be found in retailers besides sonystyle, such as newegg

nope...if it's carbon fiber, it's premium. if you're looking for that special coated one, it's the 691. you gotta look at the numbers.
