MY SZ4 Model has the LCD panel not the LED and for some reason to me it seems like the brightness is not going to its full potential even though its showing all the Brightness bars, I'm not sure if this has to do with the LCD itself degrading over time(even though its only been 2-3 years) and the colours arent as sharp sometimes when im watching movies or TV series, so I was wondering if there is any type of software out there that can help me with sharpness or contrast that sorta thing.

No option for sharpness, brightness, contrast shows up in my nVidia Control Panel either, just manage your 3D settings and, Display options, very limited options.
If you go into Advanced options mode i do this these settings below in the 3D settings, are these settings okay as they are or should I change any of them? Thanks!

The cold cathodes used in older screens don't really have a long lifespan and gradually dim, just as fluorescent lights at home do.

aww damn oh well cant afford a new screen, usually people say that they run their laptops over 3-4+ years and its runs great and never heard of a screen degrading, especially since you hear such good things about Sony's quality in screens. Being the X Black screen and the best viewing angles ive seen on a laptop i would of thought that the screen would be among the the top of things to run well for a very long time. my friends have computers as old as mine but companies like acer and their screen are still as they were when 1st bought. Does this happen with LED panels as well or does this exist with LCD's only?

I have a 10 year old (Sony) that is still fine, and a 6 year old (Sony) that is fine, as well as few other random older other brands.

Sometimes you just get a bad bulb.

All lights have a lifespan, including led's, however LED's are much longer typically.
