I am starting this thread because I could not find enough info
regarding a suspected keyboard malfunction on some or most
    of the SZ series.

The keyboard issue has been brought up a number of times to warrant
a dedicated thread and possible investigation. While I've had the luxury
of using laptops since the 286 days, I find myself making more errors on
this keyboard then any other kind. I pay extra close attention and
noticed that keys are NOT registering when typing at normal speed.
If they register, they are sometimes delayed causing the next word
to be mispelled. Initially, I thought I had to simply get used to the new
keyboard layout and or design or pitch but I am almost convinced there
there is some kind of an anomaly going on.

Can we have a show of hands/comments to see if there is a common
    thread in this alleged problem?

    TIA

    MORE Keyboard anomalies...

Under certain typing circumstances (style/speed/combo) the keyboard
will/may fail to register keystroke input.

    Investigation under way...

First, you should include more than one possible positive poll option for the SZ keyboard. I don't think it's the best in the world, but I actually prefer it to many other keyboards (less mistakes, etc., from what little experience I've had with it).

Also, if you're typing is being delayed or keys are being typed in the incorrect order, this could be something to do with Vista and drivers. If I remember correctly, there was some problem in Vista where typing was delayed (which I assume should be fixed by now with the latest updates). However, if you find that some keys don't register at all sometimes when you think they should, this may be a hardware support issue.

If OS was a factor, then perhaps I would see the problem across
the board. When I use a bluetooth keyboard, the issues dissappear.
I use a usb keyboard and again, issue are non-existant.

My guestimation is that this is purely a hardware issue and it happens
to affect some not all keyboards. An idea I have is to remove the keyboard
and re-seat the ribbon, just in case it was insterted incorectly.
