    Hi,

I've been very happy with my Acer tm3200 (r9700m) for the last two years until last week when the connection between HD and Chipset started playing up. (i'm required to whack the laptop everytime for windows to start).

I don't like whacking my laptop. So i've decided to retire the TM3200 and move on to either a Sony or HP.

I've got a price range of $2200 aud (about $1800 us) however, remember laptops in australia is v expensive compared to the US.

I need a laptop that can run all normal apps, reasonably big hd for multimedia and good enuf gfx for games like BF2 and CS Source.

I've had a look at the C and SZ, they both are good, however here's my dilemma, i can buy the lowest range sz or the highest range C series. (soz i forgot model names)

I believe they both came with the geforce 7400 fx chip, and 1.66g core 2 duo.

I would prefer SZ due to it's size, but i rather better specs than size. (C had bigger hd and ram i think)

I also had a look at the dv6000, but i prefer the smaller screen for uni.

    Can anyone comment?

    THanks !!!

If the SZ is an option, I think it's worth it. It is significantly lighter, and more sleek compared to the C series. At least from the C series Vaios I've seen, the screen on the C series seemed to be notably dull and dark (especially compared to other Vaios, even other inexpensive Vaios like the FE and N series).
