SZ Users, have you gotten used to the keyboard?

I just got my new SZ 650 and while the keyboard flex is gone, I still hate the loud, deep press keys. A year ago, I had a SZ 3xx which I got rid of after 3 weeks because of the keyboard flex and quality, among others.

While the SZ 650 seems to have fixed the "flex" issue, I've noticed that I mistype MUCH more often with the Sony. I think it might be the shape, or the long travel of the keys, but for some reason I hit double letters much more often. For example, when typing the letter "A" I might also hit "S". Sounds weird, but I dont have this problem on a regular desktop keyboard or the Dell. As I type this on my Sony, I have to retype 1 out of 5 words ot so, it's driving me nuts! I often sit on my couch so I dont have good posture, but again, I dont have problems with my other laptops. I used a Dell D620 for the last year and the keyboard was great.

Anyone else experience the same? Have you gotten used to it? It's so sad, but I'm really considering returning this and eating the restock fee just because the keyboard is terrible (for me at least). Loud keys are not a good thing in meetings as well.

I got my sz6 about a 2 weeks ago, but when I got it I made a lot of mistakes too and i found the noise kinda loud, but after about 2 days the noise was gone and the typing got much better, i barely make any mistakes now. I think you just gotta give it some getting used to and it will be gone.

I'm actually getting used to it too. And the noise is controllable I think. (Pressing not hitting)

I have owned my sz680 for about 3 months. I'm already used to the keyboard. I did make mistakes too when I just got it, but now i think the keyboard is not that bad. Also, I really like the palm rest. I think it's very comfortable.

You guys are making it tough for me! I was really thinking about getting the Dell 1330 with the crazy special they have now, but I like the Sony for a few reasons: dock, looks, weight/size. My only complaints are the keyboard, vista (will go to XP), and possibly the fact that the Sony Nvidia processor might not be powerful enough to smoothly handle 1920x1200. I agree the palm rest is VERY comfy. Much better than the HP with hard/sharper edges, which made my palm sore after 20 mins of use. So you're saying give it a few more days, i just hope to stop making so many typos, so annyoing!

i got my SZ61WN/C yesterday, and I quite like the keyboard. I make some mistakes, but that is expected when moving from one keyboard to another...

I actually like the keyboard noise, if you don't I suggest getting a keyboard protector. It helps a lot with the noise.

Gz on the comp! Any flaws whatsoever? Sony cc never stops to amaze me. A guy called yesterday wondering if everything had gone smoothly( I kindly told him to #%&? off, atleast that is what I was thinking) and I told him the screen still had problems. He told me he'll call back first thing the next day (thats today). Do I even need to point out that never happened? I'll be expecting his call any day next week (5d=36d --> 1d=~8d)

Just to say on topic for the last point, actually can't get used to the touchpad :( (I know it's not directly on topic but close!!)
