My VAIOSZ38GP cannot connect to my ADSL modem. Its an ASUS 6000EV/Z2. I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 that works on the same modem with no issues.

After connecting the cable, windows tried to connect but then the message comes up as the network cable being unplugged then it retries and goes in a loop.

Does anyone know the cause of this problem? The VAIO has recently been recovered to default by the VAIO recovery utility. I have tried resetting the modem to factory default settings and changing the network cable with no result.

Try getting the latest drivers from Sony for your LAN network card.
