I am contemplating getting a SZ. For a single user, is it really worth having a fingerprint reader? Also, is the camera that useful to have. I am aware the the cost savings is small, but they would be two less things to have problems with.

I'm not sure why being "single user" or "multi user" would make a difference on "worth" of a feature, but the reader allows you to save webpage and application login information without having to type a single character....

As for the camera, "how usefull" all depends on you... if you want to do video teleconferencing or Skype with video or whatever, then it would be usefull, if you do not do any of that stuff, it's not even worth considering....

Thanks for the camera information. I may be missing something. You are stating that the reader is a substitute for entering passwords at sites?

yes, instead of logging in using your usernames and passwords, you can configure it that you only have to swipe your finger

Thanks, I was uncertain about that. How reliable is that scanner?

The one on mine is very accurate, friends & co-workers are always trying to bypass it without luck.

The camera & microphone is also VERY useful. I'm not one to chat with people ever but when my GF goes out of town it's really nice to see and hear her voice, no more long distance phone bills for us!

EDIT: I must add that you have to pass your finger accross the reader the same way every time. Once you get the nack, it's smooth and quick.
