Hey does anyone know how to disable the start up sound when you turn on the viao. I tried muting sound before I turn it off but that doesnt work and I cannot find a place that I can turn it off. It is hard to turn it on in class because of the noise.

when you boot your system and see the animated logo,
press f2 to enter your bios - disable it there and the
sound will be gone as well.

i just had a scary incident changing the sound level. it isnt my first time fiddling w the bios. i only chnaged the sound levels.

the laptop wouldnt show the display at restart. then next restart i would only see the microsoft loading and it stops. then next it prompted if i wanted to go to safe mode, and i did. after restarting, it finally went back to normal..... weird

Try opening and closing your DVD (without any cd inside)

The beeping and buzzing is exactly the same sounds I hear when starting up my computer.....

    you don't hear that ?
did u disable ur dvd player or something ?

How do you actually go into the BIOS the turn off the sound? I have never gone into the BIOS and I don't want to screw anything up. Thank!
