I have a week old SZ491. However, the mouse pad seems to be not secured enough to the palm rest plate. Everytime when I put pressure on the top left portion of the mouse pad it flexes and I could see about 1 mm of gap in between. It seems as if the screws that hold the mouse pad is loosen. Is there an easier way to access the screws that hold the mouse pad? Is it necessary to disassemble the bottom cover?

The only possible way to fix this problem is by securing certain parts of the touchpad to the palmrest with superglue or some other industrial strength epoxy adhesive. If you don't feel comfortable disassembling the notebook and risking the validity of the warranty, I suggest you let Sony handle it.
