I have recently canceled my M1330 order and I am glad I did so. I am English but am living in Seattle for the next few months with my girl friend and I want to take advantage of cheaper prices for technology in general coupled with the strong pound to dollar exchange rate.

I really like the 13.3 form factor and I recently discovered on the US SonyStyle website you can custom configure your own laptop specs (like Dell). In the UK you can't do this so I think I will take advantage of this too!

My questions to you kind folks are how easy is it to replace/upgrade both the RAM and hard disk. Have many people successfully performed this?
I want to buy a VGN-SZ680 CTO with 1GB of RAM and the basic 80GB hard disk. I then want to upgrade to 4GB RAM and a 32 or 64 GB SSD.

Anyone have any advice on performing this?

    Thanks very much!
    J

Replacing RAM is easy, at least with SZ3XX series. But when it comes to hard disk, a bit complicated, 'cause you need to dissemble your laptop. But I know people performing it successfully. Good luck!

Do you know if you need any specialist screw-drivers to disemble is properly to fit the hard drive?

So... is it confirmed that there is/will be no way to run the ram at 800mhz in the new sz6 series? Despite the fsb improvement in santa rosa?
