I have an VGN-SZ450N/C and a few months after buying it, I noticed that the letter labels on some keys were starting to wear off. I used my computer only a mild amount, and have used other desktop and laptop computers for years and have never had similar problems. I called sony and after multiple levels of support was told that it was just due to the sweat on my fingers and that it is normal wear and tear.

I wound up buying a replacement keyboard on ebay and replacing it myself and all is good, but was curious if any others had similar experience?

A keyboard where the letters wear off after just a couple months of light use seems kind of ridiculous to me.

I suggest getting a keyboard protector to prevent the keys from wearing off. Their only about $15 on eBay.

I don't what happened to my N key but that is a tiny little bit worn. I may just buy a key on ebay and replace it myself. I already have replaced my space bar and the letter T because they were a bit to shiny for my liking.

These black keyboards with wear can start to become a bit to shiny. The black MB was just the same.
The trackpads on the SZ6/7 can go the same way as well but your notebook shouldn't really suffer from this as your trackpad is silver and not black.

I bought a mouse last week so i can lessen the time that i actually use the keyboard and my trackpad. I also bought some iKlear as well to clean my keyboard and trackpad.

I have one of those keyboard protectors but i don't like typing with those to much. I will only tend to use it if i am in a quiet place as these keyboards are a little to noisy to use in some places.

Using a black keyboard/trackpad after prolonged use the key letters would come off and they would gradually take on a shiny surface from the orginal matte texture due to the natural sweat and oils in our fingertips and friction. It can actually affect the resale value of a laptop as i`ve been told it does look a bit unsightly from a asthetic standpoint.

I`d mention that on my current SZ i`ve been using a keyboard protector since i bought it. The keyboard still looks BRAND NEW after full years of use and i don`t regret buying/using one at all, so i`d be another one recommending keyboard protectors.

It's Google stating that the message you are receiving is because someone has hijacked their website and added some malicious code to it to download and install key loggers in the background. Unfortunately, all you can really do is give it a few days and hope that the website administrator checks and fixes the problem.

Got my Cooskin as above, but all labels and instructions are in chinese. I assume you are just supposed to lay the whole thing on top of the laptop keyboard?
Also, are those white pieces of tape it comes with supposed to be used to tape all 4 sides to the computer??
    Just curious.

oh, silly me...........figured it out........the white tape is actually clear double stick tape when you pull the white part off.........guess you use that on the underside of the cooskin to stick it to your computer.

Be careful with the double sided tape. Maybe only use one piece for the left and right side. The adhesive substance they use is a bit messy to remove once applied.

I would think that some goo gone would take it off nicely........but will see when it is time to take it off. Goo gone seems to remove most adhesive residue.
