I've had my Sony SZ for a few days now and I was thinking about how this machine would hold up for the long term. I've noticed some random creeks/noises, loose battery, and other small things. I am trying to decide if I should keep or return this because I also have an HP Nc6400. The HP seems much more solid than the Sony.

Anyone out there with an SZ that's a few months old? If so, how are the hinges? are they still firm? any weird noises or creeks? What is your impression of the build quality?

This is one of many factors that may influence my decision as to which one to keep. I hope to keep this for at least two years but I dont want a machine that will feel "cheap" after a few months or year.

    Thanks!

Both Sony SZ & HP HC r well build that will last you more than two years. It's all depend whehter u want to keep a 13'3 or a 14'1.
