How do I turn off the annoying "do-di-do-do" startup noise?

    Thanks!

F2 into BIOS and turn the speaker volume to "0"... Save and exit... Thats it...

Another way is going into your Vaio Control Center, then double click on something like Basic Settings (I have a German Version so can't give you the exact name). Afterwards remove the tick next to "BIOS animation on startup". The animation won't dissapear but the sound will ;)

I tried going into the control center but was not able to find the option to disable startup animation. In the bios, however, right under the speaker volume their was an option to disable startup animation. I disabled that and sound was gone.
