Why wouldn't you run all these tests and benchmarks with as much as possible turned off?

    Thanks Fidy,

Good score is around 1900 and higher for our system at stock clocks. With a slight oc, you should get ovewr 2000.

    PS... I love bleach!

I average around 1870 to high 1900 (never got 2000+), the latter being with overclocking. I assume several people can score higher though, since I only have a 1.66ghz CPU.

Hi, just curious as to what speeds you guys are overclocking to........I am currently using version 84.56, with core and memory at 488, and 781 respectively. So far so good.

What resolutions did You used to get these scores? (without overclocking)
    I got 1790 - 1800 in 1024x768 and 2130 in 800x600.
    Is this OK ?
Drivers were 8.4.4.3 and 8.3.0.2 - same result.

1939 3dmark05 default sony drivers default (native?) resolution..not overclocked

I just overclocked (527Mhz Core/ 769Mhz Memory) it and put the latest drivers, will post the results in 30 minutes or so.

I should get 2000+ now easily.

To all who are now overclocking their $2000+ Notebooks...

I would suggest you only do this if you are comfortable with the possibility of frying your GPU. Overclocking a notebook is generally a bad idea as airflow isn't exactly at a premium inside the case. If you do OC your SZ, only do so while gaming and NOT all of the time. Also, once you find a stable clock, back both your core and memory down a bit just to be safe.

    aer0sense,

could You PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE give me some hints what should I check/set/install to get the same score?
    I got 1790 in 1024x768 and 1608 in 1280x800.
Driver version is 8.3.0.2 (sony default)
I tried also the driver from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com, version 8.4.4.2 and got the same results.

    I have Sony VAIO SZ1XP (analog 160P/C).
    T2400 1.83, NVidia 7400 128 MB.

Should I run 3dMark05 on clear windows without any antivirus/daemon/etc. running in background?

No overclocking, just plain vanilla performance... or not :)

    Check it out:

    STAMINA: 576

SPEED (before new "7200" drivers from Sony Update): 1901

SPEED (after new "7200" drivers from Sony Update): 1866

    WTF ?

    Maybe I have to re-test :)
