is this made in China or Japan?
i mean the factory...

why do you care?

Why do you care if he cares?
I think most people would rather have a notebook made in Japan than in China. Just like I would rather have a car made in Germany than in Russia. -
Hi DaCheese
Why do you care if he doesn't care if others cares?
sorry DaCheese, it just seems so cool to type it out
, don't get mad,plz.
By the way I prefer things made in Japan too. and that go with both cars and computers.
I guess the next one will be
Why do you care if he cares other's that don't care that others care?
hi Chung1q, i don't think these laptops were made in China, probably Malaysia or Indonesia. -
Malaysia, Indonesia, China same difference...I went and checked out the SZ120B yesterday at CompUSA. Performance - pretty good for multitasking, build quality - attrocious! The keyboard is total garbage! WAAAYYY too soft with no tactile feel and this is when the laptop is NEW??!? I can only imagine how the keyboard will feel after a couple months of use. Iwould suggest all potentail buyers to go to a BestBuy/CompUSA to check out the build quality before buying.
People should go and check out the build quality in person as this unit is supposedly made in Indo/Malay and still sucks -
because many people care.
-
lol alright, i'm not trying to start anything, so i guess thats cool man...
and i only care why he cares because perhaps he knows somthing that i dont...
i always try and find out why people do the things they do, -before- i shun them... -
im confused who cares about people not careing and who doesnt care that people care
also im looking for a post on if the SZ is : Made in China or Japan?, if anyone cares please post if you dont care post to let me know
-
only Japanese version of SZ are made in Japan.
all rest of VIAO line r made in china -
Except the custom ones. For the U.S., the FE and SZ custom ones are "Made in the U.S. with foreign components"
-
I bought the SZ120P/B at Circuit City today (in NYC) and the outside of my box says it's made in Japan. Battery pack in Japan. AC adapter in China. Power Cord in China. So far I love the machine! -
..by ASUS so it doesn't really matter since they produce the majestically designed W2V.
-
not anymore by Asus
Quanta has won the order for 2006
btw I doubt if vaios are ever assembled in indonesia/malaysia. AFAIK they're either China, Japan, or US(for the US market) -
I care! I invest my $2000 on the SZ because it's the only laptop Made in Japan! They sneaked in the Chinese power adapter in it though!
Want to throw it away but how can I power up my laptop and have a good use of it? Darn SONY!
-
I love the keyboard. How bizarre.
-
Mine says the exact same thing. Ivan from Portable One actually confirmed this fact for me.
-
Not true.
My 160 Premium was made in Japan.
-Mark² -
Yeah, I saw one at the local Sony Style Store, the Premium SZ is made in Japan.
-
My 120 is made in Japan
-
on the buttom of my notebook (SZ1XP) there is a lable which says "Sony Corperation, Made In Japan"
-
Unless the label lies, mine is also made in Japan.
-
Same here for my SZ1M/B (the Euro version of the SZ110, I think). The unit itself is apparently made in Japan, whereas the power adapter is made in China. I didn't bother to look at the cord, because that doesn't matter, really.
The box also says "Made in Japan", so I assume the box was also made there.
Edit: And for those who are completely shocked by the fact that the power adapter (not the most sophisticated part of a notebook, I might add) was not manufactured in Japan: It's not like all the components in a Japan-made notebook are from Japan.
