Why do you care if he cares?

I think most people would rather have a notebook made in Japan than in China. Just like I would rather have a car made in Germany than in Russia.

    Hi DaCheese
Why do you care if he doesn't care if others cares?

sorry DaCheese, it just seems so cool to type it out :), don't get mad, plz.
By the way I prefer things made in Japan too. and that go with both cars and computers.

I guess the next one will be
Why do you care if he cares other's that don't care that others care?

hi Chung1q, i don't think these laptops were made in China, probably Malaysia or Indonesia.

Malaysia, Indonesia, China same difference...I went and checked out the SZ120B yesterday at CompUSA. Performance - pretty good for multitasking, build quality - attrocious! The keyboard is total garbage! WAAAYYY too soft with no tactile feel and this is when the laptop is NEW??!? I can only imagine how the keyboard will feel after a couple months of use. Iwould suggest all potentail buyers to go to a BestBuy/CompUSA to check out the build quality before buying.

People should go and check out the build quality in person as this unit is supposedly made in Indo/Malay and still sucks

lol alright, i'm not trying to start anything, so i guess thats cool man...

and i only care why he cares because perhaps he knows somthing that i dont...

i always try and find out why people do the things they do, -before- i shun them...

Except the custom ones. For the U.S., the FE and SZ custom ones are "Made in the U.S. with foreign components"

I bought the SZ120P/B at Circuit City today (in NYC) and the outside of my box says it's made in Japan. Battery pack in Japan. AC adapter in China. Power Cord in China. So far I love the machine!

Quanta has won the order for 2006 ;)
btw I doubt if vaios are ever assembled in indonesia/malaysia. AFAIK they're either China, Japan, or US(for the US market)

Same here for my SZ1M/B (the Euro version of the SZ110, I think). The unit itself is apparently made in Japan, whereas the power adapter is made in China. I didn't bother to look at the cord, because that doesn't matter, really.
The box also says "Made in Japan", so I assume the box was also made there. ;)

Edit: And for those who are completely shocked by the fact that the power adapter (not the most sophisticated part of a notebook, I might add) was not manufactured in Japan: It's not like all the components in a Japan-made notebook are from Japan.
