    Hi,
I've had a Sony Vaio SZ-140P for a couple of years now and been mostly happy with it.

A few days ago, I plugged it in to charge it. I came back a few hours later and the battery level read 0%, but still said charging. I've taken the battery out and put it back in, but have had no luck getting the battery to hold any charge. Do I just need a new battery, or is there something else wrong with my laptop?

    TIA.

Same story here: 2-year old SZ150, battery life rapidly declined from ~2hr to zero. In the last few days the battery would only charge if the laptop was off. The battery was draining while the laptop was plugged in!
Now the battery is no longer detected, so I borrowed another one for a test. It killed the second battery, too!
Doesn't look like battery aging problem to me.
