Just tried a few times to reload my SZ110 with XP Pro but I'm not able to get the Sony Programmable I/O Control Device Driver Utility, Sony® Notebook Control Device Driver to work.

I have installed everything including the shared library. Everything else on the notebook works except for the s buttons and the FN keys. I have tried with the drivers from the recovery CD and downloaded them off the Sony site as well. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!!

I am pretty sure this is the utility that enable you to use all the fn keys and S1/S2 keys as I have only installed this thing on my clean XP and all my fn keys work fine.

    Quote from that page
Did u install the Shared Library thing first before you installed this utility? Sony Shared Library have to be installed beforehand.

Shen the 1.83 steps down to save power it steps down to 1ghz. What you are seeing is GOOD. That's why the lappy runs so cool when you aren't taxing it.

Try running something that maxes your CPU and you will see it step up. Or for a more real time view....download something like RMClock.

It depends on the power profile. If you are on battery, it will likely throttle the speed back also. Pluggedin should keep the speed up at all times.

nope couldn't get both to say 1.83 ever with all the drivers installed. with battery fully charged, ac power plugged in, i tried running batch filter editing in photoshop that utilize 100% cpu load and still couln't get both to say 1.83..

few more utility questions, if anyone have or can extract these files from the recovery cds. tried to extract them from the sony images on the cd but had no luck...
these are the files i'm still looking for:
    1. hard drive shock utility?
    2. battery utility
    3. power management

if anyone have them i can setup a ftp for you to upload them to.
