Hi guys,
I've been trying to do a clean install on my SZ110. The reason I decided to do that is that the computer was freezing quite a bit in its original configuration. I thought it might be the memory so i ran a boot up memory test overnight, no errors.
Installed Windows XP Pro. The computer booted up fine the first time. I tried to Install the 945GM chipset, installed fine and the restart.
The computer just goes blank. I don't even see the Starting Windows XP screen.
I tried to boot up in Safe mode, it stops on mup.sys and doesn't boot further.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

reboot again. There is an order to the way you are supposed to install drivers and updates. There is a thread on this forum which has the list of which order to install them in.

And whatever you do, DON'T INSTALL NORTON ANTIVIRUS. I was getting a lot of hang-ups and freezes, especially when shutting down and/or rebooting - removed NAV and replaced it with PC-Cillin, and all is peachy

Thanks for the help. Turns out it was my copy of Win XP. Now everything works absolutely great. I think I'm liking this laptop even more than my Thinkpad T42 and I thought the T42 was the best notebook.
