what happened to my LCD ?
I bought my laptop a year ago.
all of a sudden when I turned it on a few days ago, the brightness was 2% of the normal brightness.
everything works normally except that the screen is all black. I can see that it has logged on to windows, and I tried to higher the britness by pressing Fn + bright, but it stays the same, any suggestions?

sounds like the backlight is broken... under warranty it should be replaced no problem.

When you first boot up your laptop does the Vaio logo and Windows loading screens appear bright? If it's not dim during those stages, it probably isn't the backlight. You can also test by using any linux live CD and see how the brightness appears.
