Ok, the short sad story is that my Sony took a hit to the left of the keyboard that cracked the left side of the case and broke the socket on the MB that the DCA-5 Board plugs into. This Socket is what provides the voltage necessary to power the LED screen. I have made temporary repairs and everything is stable, so stable in fact that I have been using the laptop in this state for the last 3.5 months without issue. Even though it is currently stable I know it will eventually fail so I am looking for a replacement MB and left casing for the laptop. Anybody here have any suggestions?

Try Ebay and Craigslist to see if anyone is selling a machine for parts.

Is it still under warranty? If so, you could submit it and see if they'll fix it.

If not, the expense of fixing it is probably not worth it - you might as well start saving for a new computer, or look for a cheap used one.

    Good luck.
