    Hey everyone,

I just opened up my SZ160 from J&R yesterday and while I love the laptop, I must say I noticed that there is some light leakage on the bottom of the screen. I think I even noticed a little around all the other edges too. It's actually only noticeable when that Windows XP logo is on that black screen during boot up. I must say the screen is technically better than my S460, but my S460 has ZERO light leakage so thats a bit dissapointing. I did hear that some units have little to no light leakage so I have 2 questions:

    1) Considering I'm never really going to have a black background (Especially at the bottom of screen) is it even worth the hassle of trying to exchange or repair the unit?

    2) If I decide that this is unacceptable for such an expensive purchase, should I try my luck swapping units with J&R in hopes of getting a better unit, or should I go straight to Sony and see if I can get it fixed that way via warranty?

Any and all help is truly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I bought my sz from J&R too but If you want to exchange your unit, you will have to get case number(?) from sony to exchange from J&R.

I just gave up exchanging my sz.

I will give Sony a call, but if it proves to be more hassle than its worth, I'm just gonna keep my SZ as it's not that big of a nuisance.

    Thanks!
