The battery in my SZ160P does not appear to be charging when the machine is shut down. Is anyone experiencing the same behavior?

This might sound like the usual comments: Maybe because its already fully charged? Or perhaps the AC Adapter isnt plugged in properly, or the battery isnt fitted tightly enough into the notebook.

Make sure it's shut down, not hibernating. I noticed that when my SZ160 goes into hibernation, the battery does not charge. Kinda weird...

Also note that most LiIon batteries won't charge unless they're below 95% or even sometimes 90%.

Mine appeared to not charge the first time I plugged it in. After using the laptop on battery power for a while I shut down and plugged it in. The battery light blinks showing it is charging.

Possibly others are right about the battery needing to be less than full in order to charge.

Most LiIon batteries are shipped with a full charge, but it gets mostly depleted between then and they time you get it. The SZ is so new, all these batteries are probably still above 90%... :)

This should not happen. Atleast not on mine.

Mine charges in hibernate. I haven't noted the indicator status, but it does charge.
