Looking for some help here guys and I'm hoping I might find a little here.

To save a lot of explaining and embarrassment I'll just list what I'm looking for and if anyone really wants to know the whole sad story just drop me a note.

My preferred solution is to find a main board from a defunct unit. ( A long shot I know.) If this is not possible I am looking for a repair shop the folk here have used in the past and been satisfied with their work.

I'm also looking for someone who knows or has documentation on the intimate details for the system as my audio quit working after I swapped out the Power Board. This is the board that has the micro switches on it that turn the laptop on and off and also has the switches for the GPU and Wireless gear.

Any help you can provide would be just great. I don't really have the cash to seriously consider replacing the whole Laptop so I'm trying to fix mine.... This sux............... :(

mute1, have you run a check on what you can get on ebay yet? I'm sure you'll be able to find a good, working motherboard on ebay...

Ok sorry for he delay in my response, non-functional Laptop means less access for me right now. About 1.5 years ago I totaled my Honda. My laptop was in the car and it was damaged, the insurance Co said it wasn't covered soooo......

Fast forward, the laptop has been running since and then started acting up as it was known to do from time to time, well this coincided with a virus on the system and so I had to move everything off of it before reformatting and reinstalling. Since it was going to be down for a spell I figured I'd open it back up to patch the patch if you will. This involves disassembling the laptop down to the removal of the Faraday cage covering the laptop. At the same time I opted to replace the main power board (Power, Video, and wireless switches) at the same time. After reassembly the screen was fine but the audio was gone. I though it might have been a driver issue so I reinstalled Windows again and got the same results. I found out from Sony that the sound is also on main board.
