    Hi all,

I did a dual boot vista/xp on my Sony SZ1 XP/C, and everything went fine. When I got the new vista build (5472), I tried to update the old vista. Something went wrong, because instead XP/VISTA I ended up with Vista/Vista  .

Now, of course I didn't make restore DVDs, don't ask me why... The hidden restore
    partition is still there, though.

Now the question is: is there any way to restore from the hidden partition without the DVDS? I would need a programm to start under Vista, and the Sony utilities I downloaded don't include a restore programm.
Or can I download somewhere the restore DVDs? Or any other idea?
    Thanks all in advance!

If you still have the hidden restore partition, you don't need the recovery DVDs. You can access the recovery wizard by pressing F10(?) continuously after the Vaio logo. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If the F10 solution doesn't workjust download the ultimate boot disc

    http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

and use the boot managers on the disc to boot to the hidden partition - this will launch the restoration process.
