This is my first sony laptop. I like it but my god the crapware is out of control. I need XP Pro for work anyway so i formatted. I got all of the drivers from sony.com and everything appears to be working fine except bt. My issue with Bluetooth is the driver on sonys site does not work. I downloaded the latest from toshiba.com and it appears to work but says its a trial version!@!@. I am very frustrated right now and could use some guidance. Anyway to get widcomm on here?

sorry i can't be of more help regarding your specific issue, but after doing a semi-restore in this thread ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=44587&highlight=semi-restore), I have got all the bloat off and have bluetooth working.
Might help. -
thanks for the info, but the restore is going to leave me with the xp home that came with the laptop wont it?

bah, i finally got it to work! this is what i did.
after i was completely fed up with the bluetooth not working on XP Pro, i was planning to restore my comp to XP Home, but i forgot to make a recovery DVD, so i had to order a new one from sony's website. the recover DVD finally came in today and i stuck it in and in a last ditch effort i tried to install the drivers on the DVD. lo and behold, it actually worked. Bluetooth is enabled on my system and my logitech mouse works fine. -
Anyway you can post these Drivers from that disc!. I think i made recovery DVDs but i need to get the software that allows me pick and choose off the discs. Well maybe ill go grab them and take a peek in explorer

Have you tried using the MS bluetooth stack?
Installation instructions are here. -
I found my recovery discs and running the bluetooth setup under the drivers directory (on dvd1) worked! finally. Now onto my next issue then i have a perfect xp pro install. Right now i have a problem with the card readers. I show removable disk D: when the SD card Module is insert (no sd card in), I then have F: (memory stick) showing with no icon next to it. Then i also have G: (SD/MMC) with an icon next to it. Its more of an annoyance then anything.

im glad it worked on someone elses computer audio, but there was a hotfix for the memory stick icon in that SZ120 restoration thread. but i've included the hotfix down there, it worked fine for me, so just follow the instructions.
