Ok I have Vista Home Premium working perfectly, that sounds odd doesn't it? it was an upgrade from XP, but anyway I bought the new 320gb hd from WD to expand the storage on this thing along with 2gb of dual channel Ram. I have pretty much everything ready to go. Would it be best to get the drivers that I need for the camera and bluetooth and the finger print sensor from Sony or just get them from their respective companies? This is my first time doing a hd install period and it sounds stupid but I searched and couldn't find anything on a 220.....and I know that there are differences between the sony lappys so I wanted to check and make sure so I didn't do anything I would regret. The bluetooth stack and nvidia drivers and major parts I know I can find drivers for and put them on an external so that when I do the install I already have them but I don't know who made the drivers for the webcam/microphone and if I had to do the sony drivers for the WWLAN as well. I want to have all of my drivers before I go and do a clean install so Vista doesn't throw a fit when I try to install it on a completely new hd. Sorry if this is a stupid question....and I don't know if being a jarhead is an excuse but I'll throw it out there in case ;) Thanks for any help and if I get my butt flamed oh well....I asked.

Oh and I never could get the blinking camera to work in the first place.....I'll search for that answer but if anyone has it off the top of their head that would be appreciated too. Laters

    Rick

Like you said in my thread, you don't want any wasted space on the HDD, so only integrate the drivers for the camera you have VCC2 and save yourself a few kilobytes ;)

And partition the 320GB HDD up to make data easier to manage. Did you know you can click on the shortcuts for Music, Pictures etc in Personal Folders and move them to any location you want. I have seperate partitons for different data types. With the space you should do the same because files in Pictures, Music, Documents etc don't move around much you won't need to defrag all those folders when defragging the Vista partition.

I guess I could attempt something like that but I have never done it. That's a pretty good idea too. How would you do that when you're setting up Vista?
