    Strange.

Look in Device Manager. Are there any exclamation marks against the USB entries? A reinstall of the Intel chipset driver (get the latest from Intel) may clear the problem.

I'm short of other suggestions. Although my computers are a different brand, I think they have the same chipset and USB hardware. I can see:

Four Intel 82801G USB host controllers
One Intel 82801G USB2 Enhanced host controller
    Five USB root hubs

Did you try reinstalling the Intel chipset driver? It might appropriate to install the latest driver then uninstall (right click on each entry) each USB device then reboot. This might flush out a problem.

If you can eliminate the software from suspicion then investigations can focus on the hardware.
