    Hi everyone, can anybody tell me what's the difference between SZ260 and SZ270 ? I'm a bit confused and can not decide which one to pick.
    Thanks!

    Difference looks to be that the 270 has EDGE 3G wireless whereas the 260 does not. Otherwise they seem identical.

    AT my local CompUSA I noticed even the SZ-230 had EDGE, and they said the SZ-260 in stock also had EDGE if I am not mistaken. Sad Cingular still charges for EDGE what Verizon charges for EVDO. I went with Sprint recently and now use a Samsung A900 phone to connect both Powerbook or my Sony T250 by either USB or Bluetooth. Since I don't make many calls I got the cheapest rate: $86 including tax for both a voice plan and using the same phone as a modem for Broadband access.

    picked up SZ260 on Friday from Compusa. No Edge wireless! I use Verizon's EVDO - it's pretty quick.

    My mistake then. Wierd that the SZ-230 in my area does though. I am seriously on the fence between that and a Macbook.

    Off topic; My KPC650 card (Verizon wireless) service was dropped for a Sprint A900 cell phone. My card gave too many dropouts in my work location, like one every 15 minutes to 1/2 hour, whereas my Sprint phone tethered to my laptop by USB chord or by bluetooth seems flawlessly reliable, somewhat slower though, but I prefer the phone over the card, which is more like the higher speed DSL.

    KPC650 = 529 Kbits/sec

    A-900 = 427 Kbits/sec USB

    These were averages of readings taken on the same laptop at the same location the same time of day.

    Maybe the reliability had to do with the card but I don't think so. I had a PC5220 card before that doing the same thing in the same location. Hope you are having better luck with Verizon in your location. At home there was much less of a problem but at work inside my building the KPC650 was too unreliable.
