I have about $2100 to buy. Pls help me to decide one of them:

    1) SZ320 (C2D T5600 1.83GHz RAM 1GB): $1960

    2) SZ330 (C2D T7200 2.00GHz RAM 2GB): $2110

    3) SZ260 (CoreDuo T2400 1.83GHz RAM1GB, Carbon fiber casing): $1860

    Thanks

For what it's worth, I configured a 340 with the stats of the 330 for around 1800 -1900. I didn't need xp-pro, or a few of the other things that are pre-installed in the 330 model. Works like a dream. :)

SZ260 is one of the premium models while the other two are not.

well. How much faster- dualcore 2 with 2gig is faster then 1.83 and 1gig
the 3xx series does have some extra bloat ware yet easy remove. It,s a couple mouse click away.330 much faster. As soccy said-sz260 is one of the premium while the ether two are not.If you want a slower pc go with the sz260 and get the so called premium.
P.S....I think it,s really lame of sony to come up with this premium lable.Guys and Girls if you buy a sony notebook and spend over 2000.00 it,s a premium. There just trying to pull in the suckers that want to spend that extra 350.00 or so with a label and it seems to be worken.for instance--I bought a toyota 4-runner limited that has the nice leather seats with extra clearcoat on paint that cost me that extra 2800.00 bucs.hmmmm my leather seats ofcourse are falling apart not forgetting the extra clearcoat is a wast.
My brother has the 4-runner SR5 a year older then mine with cloth seats that are holding together with paint that looks better then mine. But hey
I got the limited inturn being the premium.Consider that micro thin scrren on the premium sz like leather on a seat.It looks outstanding yet does not hold up for the long haul.
    Good luck

thanks. Many people say Led Light enables the SZ260's screen brighter, so just wondering what about the SZ330's screen?

i owned the 230 then upgrading to the 330.The 330 screens are outstanding with a little slower refresh rate. The screen is very strong able to take more punishment compared to the micro thin screen.i do like the carbon fiber cases in the so call premium model.hmmmm I took the strong screen in the 330

Some SZ standard owners somewhere in the forum have already confirmed the screen is little dim compared to other Vaio' screen. So I think that Sony has tried to differentiated SZ's screen between Premium and standard ones.

That is correct and the standerd screen is more strucaly stable so this becomes a matter of choice for what is more important
If you were to go with the thin preme selection BUY SCREEN PROTECTION.at compusa it run you almost 400 buc included in the 2 year extened warrenty.all in all your 350.00 upgrade with the 400.00 extened warrenty so your only paying 750 to 800 dollors for that prettty screen
    Good luck

I can give you a test result of super pi 1M caculation.

    Sz330 with T5600 is 30 (1.83Ghz) sec and SZ330 with T7200 (2Ghz) is 25.8 sec.

    Sz260 with T2400 (1.83Ghz) is 33 sec.

I have a question that is slightly off topic. I've never bought a customized Sony before & was wondering what kind of boxes does the customized SZ come in (I mean the color & design of the box)? Does the box look anything like the standard black colored boxes used for the retail models? Anyone mind posting a couple of pics?
