    Hello everybody,

I'm trying to get my integrated Sony Ericsson VDC EDGE modem working, but I still have problems on my VGN-SZ330P.
I remember the first time (December 2006) I turned on my Sony laptop and I saw the WWAN led light once windows xp has finished to boot and ready to use.
So it means the WWAN was properly working, but I've never used it.
I was able to enable the WWAN led using some traybar icon in the past, but now I don't remember how to do it.

During the last days I bought a new SIM Card and I would like to connect to the Internet using it with my Sony Ericsson VDC Modem.

    I have some problems:
    a) If I go to System->Properties->Hardware->Device Manager I don't see any unrecognized hardware, and my integrate Sony Ericsson VDC EDGE Modem is not present.
    b) If I install this driver I can't see any new modem in the Device Manager (I don't understand why).
    c) I also tried to install the SmartWi™ Firmware Update for Cingular® Wireless Module but I get the following error messages in a ms-dos window:
    Code:
SUCCESS: The process "SmartWiTogglet.exe" with PID 3784 has been terminated.
ERROR: The process "SmartWi.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "CingularCCM.exe" not found.
SUCCESS: The process "SmartWiService.exe" with PID 2656 has been terminated.
SUCCESS: The process "WCULauncher.exe" with PID 948 has been terminated.
ERROR: The process "SmartWiFirstBootUtility.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "SmartWiToggletD.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "SmartWiD.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "SmartWiServiceD.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "WCULauncherD.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "SmartWiFirstBootUtilityD.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "Phoenix.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "CCP.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "SmartWiToggletProxy.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "PowerManager.exe" not found.
ERROR: The process "PhoenixCSharpSample.exe" not found.
At the and of the Setup process, the Traybar shows me that a new hardware has been detected, that is the Sony Ericsson VDC EDGE Modem.
A new message tells me that the setup process has failed and a reboot is needed.
At next boot, the EDGE Modem is not present once again.

I would like to be able to connect to the Internet through my EDGE Modem using my SIM Card (I live in Italy, so I don't use Cingular).

    What should I do?

    Thanks in advance.
