    Hi everyone,

I own an SZ340P and was wondering if there's a way to get my screen to shut off whenever the lid is closed. Power Management options only list "do nothing", "standby" and "hibernate". My previous Dell 600m used to do that automatically and it was pretty useful.

Appreciate any help I can get, thanks!

The screen should automatically shut off when it senses the lid being closed.

    Hi ickypoo,

Can you test to see if your machine has the correct drivers installed in the first place?

I would use the Start Button-> Turn Off Computer -> Standby to force the computer into standby mode.

If your computer is unable to go into standby in the first place, then it's a matter of installing Sony's Power Management drivers I think.
