I just got the VGP-BMS30 bluetooth mouse to go with my SZ360 and the mouse won't auto connect to the laptop. I have to manually connect it in Bluetooth settings on startup, returning from hibernate/standby, or if the connection times out due to inactivity. I've deleted the mouse and recreated the connection but that didn't help.

Wasn't sure if this was an SZ problem, or a Toshiba bluetooth stack issue so I tried to find the XP SP2 bluetooth device options, but they aren't in the Control Panel.

Can someone please help? I would love it if lappy would auto detect and connect the mouse. But would be satisfied with doing an initial manual connect and then having it reconnect on its own (well clicking or using connect button on mouse) without having to open the bluetooth settings.

Also, I'm not sure if this is an issue - but I just remembered that I disabled the wireless switch utility in startup...maybe that's needed?

I am sure that there is a way to tweak it, but my wireless switch has to be set to on to use the bluetooth. I am sure that there is a way to adjust that, but I have no idea how. I am sure it is set to default how most users would want to use it. Save power, turn off, have the machine plugged in, turn on.

I had the same problem in the beginning. I have a SZ150 and all I have to do is click the left button once to let it connect to the laptop. And yes I have to do this when returning from hibernate or standby as well.

Reinstalled the bluetooth drivers from the recovery utility and now it works great. I still have to manually connect on startup, but it'll reconnect on when I click on the left mouse button from then on. Oh, and the Wireless Switch Utility isn't needed (I think this is just for if you want to turn one of them off).

Thanks for pointing me to the semi-clean install thread - will definitely remember that if I ever have to restore again. :)
