Few months back wanted to get netbook but got idea that i better get second hand SZ (which I had some years back and knew what it is all about) the idea worked, mobile general use and i started even using it for DJ gigs (DJ softwares are very CPU light, could probably run even on TT or TZ) Since it worked so well i looked for a better model and found one yesterday- SZ38.
i already did fresh install from Recovery and wonder if I should go for clean XP install. I used to be nLite extremist, having 2 partitions with the music performance partition running (extremely fine) with default 6 services on 60MB etc, etc. Till now I used over dozens of Vaios, always with nLite versions, but I noticed that as the computing power grown, all those tweaks from years back wouldnt make much difference. And from T7xxx onwards I could have BT,internet,WLAN even Skype on and do my audio visual jobs without any glitches.
So perhaps I could get away with just removing bloatware, in such case would appreciate some links to Vaio bloatware lists, as Sony names are rather cryptic and i dont want to remove something vital. All i might need from the software is DVD playback and burning. I have Vegas,DVD architect, Soundforge , full PS and Premiere (it is rubbish anyway compared to Vegas) so none of the Vaio stuff is of much use.
Any ideas, tips would be appreciated (including kick in my lazy a.. to spend few hours on clean install if it is really such disadvantage to use cleaned original Vaio setup instead of proper "clean")
Thanks in advance
SZ38 clean XP is it worth it, alternative?
