My SZ460 has the Cingular EDGE built in and I don't need a plan as I only use my notebook when I travel 6 times a year. This upcoming week I'm going to a boring conference in California and I very much want internet access while I'm in presentations all day long. No, the hotel does not offer wi-fi or a wired solution.

    So three questions:

    1. Is there such a thing as a prepaid data SIM for such purposes as short-term access to a network without a commitment/contract?

    2. Is the SIM in my SZ removeable if #1 is possible?

    3. Does Cingular themselves offer some data plans for those of us who only need a few weeks of connectivity per year?

Bottom line is that I need a few days of internet access and don't want the bother of signing up a contract when I don't need it.

    TIA

    Follow up question:

    4. Is the Sony SZ460 locked to Cingular? If so, is there an unlock procedure so that if I do find a prepaid SIM option I can make this work?
