I want to update my hdd to a newer 7200rpm Hitachi/Seagate - but where is the hdd installed? I can't seem to find a door for the hdd :s Halp? Also, can Vista - Business 32 bit recognize 4GBs of ram?

Your chipset limits you to 3GB, so even with a 64-Bit os 4GB will not be recognized.
Try the following guide on installing your HD:

In that case is it possible for me to upgrade to 3 gigs of ram? Also, if I'm not wrong, Sony down clocks memory from 667mhz to 222mhz for maintaining system temps. Now if I were to replace both rams in the laptop with corsair 5300 (667mhz), will the same happen to that as well?

Well, any help people?

Can anyone please tell me, if I can install 3GB of RAM on my SZ 483N/C?

I still didn't get answer to my question, can I upgrade my ram to 3GB?

My model comes with a 5300 module - originally clocked at 667 Mhz but Sony for some very odd reasons has got it down clocked at 333 Mhz. :s
Is there anything that I can do about it? -
It's not downclocked to 333. It'd DDR2 RAM. 333 x 2 = 667.
-
Ah - okay - I didn't think of it that way. Any ideas if I can put a faster RAM in this notebook - or will I need to go with the 667Mhz one?
-
You can install faster RAM but it will still run at the same speed (533Mhz)
