    Hi,

I've been waiting and waiting for Sony HK to come out with the SZ6 series. All of a sudden, they've pushed out this VGN-SZ58GN/C Anyone know if this is the same as SZ68x that everybody's been talking about in this forum?

    Thanks in advance.

    Michael

I think it's the same (2,4 Ghz, with 800 Mhz system bus is the Santa Rosa stuff i think). Hybrid HDD also, from what I can tell. And GeForce 8400M. I think it's just the SZ6 under a different name.

    Except:
    no 802.11n

it says no SD Card Slot - but then go on to say Compatible Memory Cards - SD...

no carbon fibre option (I've not seen the real CF option before but a lot of people in the forum seem to fall for it, although paying for it is another question. But I guess if the option is $50 more (as is the case from JP sonystyle), everybody will have it, right?)

Well, the European SZ6 (we only have one model here according to SonyStyle, coming end-Sep) also has no 802.11n. And no carbon fibre option as far as I can tell.

Well , it has the black premium carbon finish, what they call "Carbon Fibre Black edition" in Europe.

It does not have the Brown Premium carbon lid.
