Is it possible to upgrade the CPU on a SZ6 from a T7250 (2.0GHz) to a T7700 (2.40GHz). I believe that both of these are core 2 duo santa rosa chips.
If this is possible, how difficult is the procedure and would I have to install or update the BIOS or any software?
*As an added note, I have read that people have upgraded their SZ's from a core duo to a core 2 duo.

It is possible, difficulty depends on how the computer is built and how accessible the cpu is and how skilled you are at taking laptops appart.
And because it's just a straight up santa rosa to santa rosa upgrade, you don't need any BIOS update, but it always helps to have the latest one. -
From what I remember, the cpu was easy to access. I am wondering if it is as simple as a pop the old one out and drop the new one in. Any other thoughts on this, maybe someone with first hand experience.

It's almost as easy as adding ram.
There's a door with 4 screws underneath the computer. Remove the screws and slide the door off. You should now have access to the heatsink. Remove the 2 screws securing the heatsink to the CPU socket in order to expose the CPU. -
Very easy to replace. Make sure you have some good thermal paste too, Arctic Silver or Akasa. If the replacement CPU is a retail one it will come with a thermal pad but I would still use one of the above mentioned pastes.
I have a T7600 (Core 2 Duo 2.33Ghz) on it's way to me from the US to replace a Core Duo 2Ghz in my SZ270.
xprohx, have you already upgraded to 2GB RAM and a 7200rpm HDD? These will give you the more of a performance increase than a CPU upgrade.
