This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    SZ6 Owner: turning this off?

    can someone tell me how to turn that off (remove it from the screen). I've tried right clicking on it,but there's no options. Thanks.

    I don't know. What's worse is that I turned mine off and can't turn it back on... :(

    This has bugged me too. Has anyone figured out how to identify/control/delete this little gizmo???

    This is the Vaio Smart Network Utility. See the attached screenshot for the icon for it in the system tray.

    If right click on it, you can tell it to show the floating window, then tell it to hide the floating window to get rid of it (I think there's a bug here. You can't hide it until after you've shown it, even if it's already showing). Or you can exit from it.

    New and improved is the key to marketing. Somebody has to change things to "differentiate" themselves, stability and ease of use be damned. Its all about selling it.

    I hided the tool and now i get the error message which said "VAIO Smart Network stopped working and was closed" Does anyone experience the same problem and/or have a solution for it? Thank you in advance for your help
