    Hi,

I asked this in the hardware forum, but I'd like to know if I am having driver problems or not. With my sz650, the graphical response of certain vista screensavers (bubbles and energy) is sluggish. This happens on both video cards (x3100 and 8400Gs) and at 1280x800 resolution. I noticed that if I switch to 1024x768 resolution the screensavers run perfect.

Can anyone confirm that they are getting poor graphical performance for hese screensavers with the sz6? You can tell by the slow speed of the graphic (and the fluctuation in speed also; sort of like a poor fps count).

    Thanks

Energy is a little sluggish, barely though. Bubble works very well however.

What drivers are you using? Under the devce manager for the 8400GS adapter, it says I have driver 7.15.11.5631. I really can't understand why Im getting such a poor graphical response. The windows experience index says I have 3.5 for graphics and 3.8 for gaming graphics. Even the photos picture slideshow is sluggish when it makes the fade in to fade out picture transition.

My old computer with only 1GB of Ram and an integrated card (GMA500) never had trouble running these screensavers (I had upgraded to vista also). Anyone else have an input on this? Thanks

I'm currently using ForceWare 158.45 and scoring a 4.6 for gaming graphics.

hi, just want to remind you that screen saver does nothing good to lcd screen. better let it go completely dark, that will save your screen.

ignore my post if you want have something nice to look during a break.

screen saver was designed to save CRT screens from being overburned.

Exactly the same here and I configured an SZ680CTO with all the best options you can get...a bit low too imo. Do let us know if you find out whether this can be increased and whether its a driver problem or not please..

Well I ran 3dmarko05, and got a score of 2283 with vista business. This is not such a bad score. I tried changing drivers again, but overall I'm still getting a slow graphical response. I can't even watch a slideshow of my pictures without seeing the choppy fade in to fade out. I will let you know if I find a solution to this.

    Duch,

Did you fix your problem? I would suggest doing a semi-clean install.
