I found a working driver for the VGP-VCC7 camera on Vista 64 bit system (Vaio SZ680).
1:
Download the following exe file:
http://tc.versiontracker.com/product/redir/lid/1051302/P7230_CAMERA_RICOH_V1.0.0.2_VISTA.EXE
2:
Extract the content of the file to a temporary folder.
3: Locate the imaging device in device manager and refresh the driver (browse to the driver folder and install the driver from).
I managed to use the camera with skype.
The only problem: Camera activity led is not working.

If this is indeed working, it is very good news.
The driver you referenced above is for the Fujitsu P7230, which has a different PID (1841) than the VCC7 (PID 183A). It is quite surprising that Vista x64 will let you install the driver for a different hardware device.
I'll give that a try myself after a complete system backup. -
Vaio Camera Capture utility not working, but I managed to make vide calls with skype.

Does the camera work in msn?

another unofficial driver. I haven't tested yet, but I think it's like the one pdudas posted. The LED may won't work
-
Have you tried with Sony eSupport direct? The site contains 2 versions (XP and Vista Business) with Vista needing a Microsoft KB to work.
The drivers I saw and used dated back in 2007. It does not state 32 or 64bits. If your model is not on the support list, try the drivers for the 2 models next to you - most of the time, it works.
cheers ... -
Is there a primer for installing 64 bit Vista on the SZ6x series? I think I am ready to take the plunge but haven't been able find the thread that points to all the drivers and packages? Thanks for the help.

The links in this thread no longer provide access to the drivers for the Sony web cam. Can someone who has these files make them available somehow? Perhaps via PM or email?
I'm hoping this will work for my SZ7 series as I think it is the VCC7 as well. -
Me too. I am doing the 64 bit install this weekend. I found a great thread on this forum and links to just about everything but the camera.. Please post or PM. Thanks + 1 rep power for sure.

I found the video driver included with with the SZ6 x64 driver and utility pack that you can can access through this thread. It works for me in Skype, but not the VAIO camera capture utility, as other have mentioned. The camera LED does not light up either. Also be sure to read the readme file in the webcam driver folder and follow the instructions (took me a little while to realize I had to do it that way).
I believe I have 100% funtionality with my SZ7 between the various drivers I have found through a couple sony x64 threads on this forum. My two problem areas were the webcam drivers and alps touch pad drivers. Downloading the x64 driver pack worked for the webcam and installing the latest Dell Alps x64 driver worked extremly well for the touchpad. It kinda irks me having Dell branded software on my system, as I was going for a nice clean OEM looking system. Ah well, x64 is worth it. -
Hey guys, I'm thinking of giving Windows 7 x64 a go, anybody any luck and experience with getting ALL the drivers to work?
-
Hi
I installed Windows seven 64 bits on my sz71.
However, the VGP-VCC7 camera doesn't work.
So, does anyone has the driver for this camera for windows seven 64 ? -
If you click on the link below you will find several helpful 64bit threads.

Would somebody be kind enough to upload a copy of the driver? None of the links appear to be working and I've scoured high and low (including all the threads in Rachel's post) for one that works, with no results to show for it.
I am on Windows 7 x64 (SZ650) and cannot get the bluetooth and webcam to work--nor the brightness buttons, but I understand no real solution has been found for that. Please help!
(For the record, I did find a feasible webcam driver that contains Ricoh Motioneye 64 and 32 combo, but the problem is that my USB Composite Device's Imaging Driver keeps telling me that my driver is already up to date when I try manual installation. I even tried uninstalling existing drivers, but they just come right back like boomerang. Keeping my fingers crossed that the driver in this thread is a different one . . . )
