    Hi!

Did anyone installed successfully any linux distro on SZ6?
I installed Ubuntu 7.10 and found some problem.

Baclkight control works only X3100 with xbacklight utility (backlight can be set by 0-100%)(not with FN-F5,FN-F6). Xbacklight not works on GF8400.

Wlan works out of the box.
    Speedstep works.
BT works but I didnt managed to pair it with my phone...
Ethernet works out of the box, but it seems slow to me. It's only 100mbit/s....
Compiz works if you removes the blacklist the card in xorg.conf.
If the compiz works the video player not works (driver problem).
    Sound control works OOB. (FN-F2,FN-F3,FN-F4)
FPR must work with thinkfinger (I never tried).

Battery time is better than I expected: it runs 4.5 hours from battery on an ethernet connection browsing the internet.

100mbit/s is the standard speed for ethernet. With regards to your video problem, do you have audio with a black screen while Compiz is on?

I have gigabit connection at home.
Copying 1.4GB lasted 3 minutes on Ubuntu. (it is 45s on Vista).
Maybe I have to compile a new kernel to works the ethernet and Sata Ahci well.

The compiz video playing problem is a known bug in x3100 driver.
