I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to make sure.

Does the SZ650 support an external VGA resolution of 2560 x 1600 (on a 30" LCD)? I know the DVI port on the dock will not support it, but what about VGA?

I have a Dell 24" LCD running at 1920 x 1200 on the DVI at home but was thinking of getting a 30" for the office.

    Thanks

(ps don't flame me...for some reason I don't see a proper "Search" function here?!?!)

First I dont think that it will work but someone with that laptop could answer it, but as for you not being able to search it is because you dont yet have 100 posts. Keep talking and search will be enabled. Good luck!

To my knowledge the Dell 30" only has a DVI (and maybe HDMI) input. So no, VGA will not work.

    So let's say I find a 30" with VGA input...the question is, will the SZ650 output at 2560 x 1600?

The max for VGA I think is 2048x1536 (remember reading it on Intel's website) so no.
