Having had my Vaio for a few weeks now, I'm beginning to find some minor issues that are really starting to bother me. I'd like to know if other people are experiencing any of these same problems:
1. My keyboard likes to skip letters. This s an example of how the keyboad types (i.e., misses the "i" and the "r" for no reason at all).
2. From time to time, about once an hour or so, I get the sound for device-removal and then the sound for device-install. It's bizarre because I get no other indication on the screen that any device has been removed/installed.
3. My Click 2 DVD doesn't recognize the built-in DVD burner.
Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

and the issues with vista goes on...
am using the same computer...for about 24 hours since i got it shipped to me.
cant connect wirelessly to internet... -
Yeah, connecting on wireless is a bit of a hit-or-miss. And each time it connects to my network, it asks if I want to associate a new profile to the wireless network -- that I'd already set up!
-
I get the same connect and disconnect thing. Weird.
The wireless utility shouldnt be asking you for a profile everytime for an established network. That is also weird. Call Sony I am sure they will blame it on the software but hey wait...it's their software! -
This is the "Sony Smart Network" utility at work. Unfortunately it's not too smart. I had the same issue, but had to reinstall Vista and when I did, Smart Network didn't get installed. I missed it in the beginning because I like the "profile switching" idea but in reality it doesn't work so well (I had the same problems as fuenfer...always asking for a new profile).

Without Smart Network, how were you able to toggle on/off the bluetooth without turning wifi off. That is the only reason I kept it after my clean install.
-
You need either the Network Switching Utility or Smartwi, if you don't have Smart Network.
-
Those applications are not in my Sony recovery program, where did you get yours?
-
You need to reinstall the Sony Notebook utilities and the Toshiba Bluetooth driver. That should give you at least the Network Switching utility. They are on the sony download website.

I've not experienced the wireless problems about the only thing I have ecperienced is when typing the " or ' (which is on the same key) character it doen't appear until I hit the another letter on the keyboard.
Apart from that everything seems ok... apart from Vista taking a small ice age to do anything -
yeah the keyboard skips letter very very often.....sigh...not good for someone who types 80wpm

after removing the smart wireless, it's so easy to conect to the net..
but no bluetooth, called the sony helpline and they asked me to enable the smart wireless or bluetooth won't work. -
what keyboard are you using?
