My SZ680 sometimes switches to 1024x768 resolution after it wakes up from hibernation. Has anyone else had this problem or know a fix?

    Thanks...

Same here with my SZ670. But not always, just sometimes (maybe 1 out of 10?). And also, I disabled hibernation. It reset to 1024X768 after wake up from sleep. I tried to upgrade the graphic diver, no improvement.

My SZ 650 has done that a couple of times. Also my screen has been flashing/flickering when powering down. And, have light leakage at the bottom of the screen. Other than that and the turlte like speed of Vista, I like the computer.

Will Soy take it back just onlight leakage?

There's a definite line at the bottom of the screen when it is black.

Should I take it back to the store and see if they'll take it back.

how often do you use a completely black screen?

if my screen is totally black, like when i boot up, ill see some light leakage too.
take a picture and post it

    but i think you're overreacting.

Mine switches to 1024x768 after sleep/hibernation about 10-20% of the time.

And I have light leakage on the bottom too but I can live with that. My previous S170 had it too but it was less noticeable.

    Yet another Vista bug.

If you put the system to sleep by closing the lid, it will ALWAYS restore in 1024x768. If you sleep it by pressing the power button, waiting several seconds, THEN closing the lid.. the proper resolution will be maintained when you restore.

The problem is related to the black flicker as well and is due to the MTT (?) process. There is a thread here about how to disable the service (I believe ninjanoodle was the OP), which will fix the black flicker problem as well as the wrong resolution upon restore glitch. The purpose of this service is to avoid any windows staying on an external monitor after it is disconnected.

Is this a bug specific for new purchased laptop?
I mean, I got this problem at the first couple of days when I got my SZ670, but after a while, it never come back. I have not had this problem for more than 1 week now, with lot of sleep an wake up per day. I know it does not make any sense, but to me, it seems it will disappear eventually after the computer get to know you.... :) :)

This problem seems to have gone away for me. It hasn't happened to me in a few weeks.
